25Jesus said to her, “I am both the resurrection that will change everything and the new kind of life that will never end. These are not abstract things to merely hope for; they are realities that I have complete power and authority over. Those who trust in Me will live a new kind of life that surpasses death. Even if they die, they will experience this new kind of life that overcomes death. 26Everyone who believes and continues to live in Me will never really die anyway. Do you believe this?”

9“As I said before, I am the gate, and another aspect of Me being the gate is this: Whoever enters through Me will find safety, security, and provision. In these lands that are full of evil—where food and water are scarce—My sheep will be saved. They will go in and come out without fear for their safety. Even though they live in a desert wilderness, they will find desirable green pastures that offer vibrant provisions for living. 10The thief (the false religious leaders) comes only to steal and kill and destroy the sheep. But I have come so that they might have a new kind of life, a life fuller and more abundant than any they have ever known or can imagine.

5“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever remains vitally connected to Me, I will remain vitally connected to them. They will produce much fruit that is pleasing to God. But apart from Me, you cannot produce the kind of fruit God desires of you. 6If anyone does not remain vitally connected to Me, that person is like a broken-off branch that is thrown away. Cut off from the life-giving source, these broken-off branches wither and die. Then, they are gathered up and thrown into the fire and burned.
